We've had some reports of intermittent access problems with a few clients.
Sadly each time we get to be notified, the problem appears to have vanished.
Can i ask that should you find your website hosted by design R web to be unavailable, that you ...
do a quick ping of your domain, from a command prompt type ...
ping yourdomain.co.uk
do a quick traceroute to your domain, from a command prompt type ...
tracert yourdomain.co.uk
and email the results over to support[at]designRweb.co.uk so we can investigate
So far one problem has been tracked back to an overloaded switch - now replaced
Three instances have been congestion on the bt-broadband service (hops stopping at bletchly.bt.com)
One has been a packet loss problem when coming in through tiscali (being looked into)
And a couple are as yet unsolved.
We very much appreciate you for all the help so far from the affected users, I do understand that it's very frustrating not being able to get into webmail or a customer saying your site couldnt be accessed, any of the issues that we can resolve or influence our upstreams about will be dealt with as soon as they can be tracked down.
