One ofthe recent security updates to cPanel incorrectly changed the "owner" of the inbuilt FormMail script to the user doing the updtea rather than the root user.
This sadly meant a short time when the in-built scripts will have returned 500 - internal server error, rather than executing the form-2-email functionality
Now fixed, and sorry for the disruption.
