Hi Rob

Was just wondering if there are any plans to upgrade the version of MySQL, which appears to be 4.1.22.

The reason I ask is that I was trying to use a sql query that uses subqueries on one of my sites but then realised that the currently installed version doesn't support them.

cheers and a good New Year

Actually, running phpinfo (http://www.cornwellinternet.co.uk/PHP/ch01/phpinfo.php) tells me that the 'client API version' is 4.1.21 -- that's on cPanel4, though logging into my control panel reports MySQL version 4.1.22-standard-log

Hi Roger, yes you're right. Strange that there should be a discrepancy. Doubtless Rob will look into it when he gets a chance. Xmas probably wasn't the best time to ask!

I'm off on holiday till New Year so no urgency Rob, but if you can give me an idea of the likely upgrade situation it would help decisions about a couple of sites I have in mind for next year which may need subqueries.

On a separate topic is there a date by which we'll need to ensure that the use of things like $HTTP_POST_VARS are taken out of any sites on our reseller accounts due to PHP version changes?

Good New Year all

Sorry about delayed response, clients are not supposed to be able to post in the *announcements* section - will get someone to fix that :D

Some version questions are going to be related to what is supported by the O/S and Control Panel you are on, and what is compatible with other clients on the same server(s). If you have specific version requirements then an VPS or dedicated server is the answer ...

You will be able to migrate your accounts to a server running
Web Server Apache v2.2.2
PHP 5.1.6
MySQL Version 5.0.27

In the new year, as soon as we complete our internal testing - exected by the end of January.
