Hi,
Just set up a shared hosting account and was hoping to add a new domain name to my account. Is this possible?

Hello,

Yes, this is possible. If it is already registered, you need to change it's nameservers to the ones found in your welcome email. Once you have done this, you will need to login to your cPanel and add it as either a parked or addon domain, depending on how you want it setup.

Please let me know if you have any further questions and have a great day! :)

Steve,

What is the ip address for the Nameserver 2? Also, when I want to addon a domain name , is the New Domain Name the http:/www name, what is expected in the Username/directory/subdomain Name: field and is the password the one I use to log in.

Thanks in advance,
Jon.

Hello Jon,

The nameserver IP's are:

Nameserver 1: 72.36.166.194 (ns3.statichost.co.uk)
Nameserver 2: 72.36.166.195 (ns4.statichost.co.uk)

When adding an addon domain, you need to fill in the following fields like this:

New Domain Name is the domain name that you wish to add. (Format: domain.com)
Username/directory/subdomain Name is the sub-directory that you want to point it to.
Password is either your cPanel password or any random password, this will create an FTP account.

If you wish to point a domain name to your public_html folder, then you need to add it as a Parked Domain. :)

Steve,

Hope you can help again.

Have pointed my domain name (ww.catalogue-directory.com) to the server at static hosting. However, seem to have a problem when trying to ftp stuff to static host. There are 2 issues, what should I have entered for Username/directory/subdomain Name ? I entered catalogue-directory but now think this is wrong. Also, what do i need to enter for username and password for FTP Surfer. I am having problems logging on.

Thanks,
Jon.

Hello Jon,

If you entered catalogue-directory in the "Username/directory/subdomain Name" field, then it would have created a folder in your public_html folder called catalogue-directory.

You can upload files to catalogue-directory.com by logging into your main FTP account and navigating to /public_html/catalogue-directory/ :)

Let me know if you need any further help.
