Please accept our apologies for the recent outages on the CPanel server.
The problems were caused by the CPanel server being overloaded due to too many processes and connections. This meant it had started to refuse to show websites and connect to databses etc,
Initially thought to be a script/php issue, after much investigation it surfaces as user-generated overload, caused by a mailing campaign generating many thousands of emails, hundreds of connections to teh mailserver, and repeated mail bounces.
Steps have been taken serverside to reduce the potential impacts of it happening again, as well as working with the affected user in solving the issues raissed.
designRweb technicians will be keeping an eye on the processes and server load very closely for the next few days, but the apache (webserver) downtime, slow email connections and mysql socket errors should all be sorted out now.
