Stats packages file usage

On one of my sites I am seeing a Webalizer DNS cache database (dns_cache.db) which has reached 40 Mb. From a bit of reading around I see that this is used to look up the countries of origins of my visitors, and I think this filesize is a bit of overkill to provide this function.

I may be atypical, as I am hosting just over 100 sites on a Reseller_300 package but using less than a third of the web space and bandwidth. Any comments? Should I just let these DNS cache files grow or is there something I can do about them?

If space isnt an issue for you, leave them - if you delete it, it will simply rebuild the following night but that can take hours/days before the stats has all the information again...

Personally I turn off webalizer a I much prefer awstats for a high-level view and our own tracking code for the detail
