With very short notice, the .CN Registry has informed us that regardless of the registration/renewal date all registrants will receive an email directly by CNNIC with the request to confirm their registration information,
actually meaning a confirmation of the email address.
Other data can
BUT MUST NOT be changed.
The subject of the e-mail is
"Domain Name Information Confirmation".
The e-mail contains a confirmation link that
*MUST* be activated by clicking on it.
If the domain name registration information is not confirmed within 14 calendar days of receipt of the notice, the domain name will be processed according to the
"relevant provisions of the Registry".
This implies a possible deletion/loss of the domain.
Here is the original Registry message that we received:
Quote:
According to the policy in Article 28th of "China Internet Domain Name Regulations" the
applicant for a .CN domain name shall submit true, accurate and complete domain name
registration information and sign a registrant agreement with the domain name registrar.
Upon completion of domain name registration, the applicant for a .CN domain name
become a registered domain name holder (registrant).
Domain name holder's true, accurate and complete domain name registration information is
a certificate of rights for domain name transfer and information change. In order to
protect the rights of the registrant of being domain name holder, CNNIC is requiring all
domain name holders to confirm the registration information via the new launched online
system of CNNIC. The notification email will be sent directly to the registrants.

We are trying hard to get more information/details about which we will notify .CN registrants accordingly.
